LCD dimmer wire when replacing Bose system

I'm down to one last item and I can finish the replacement of the Bose system with aftermarker. There is a gray wire that goes into the Bose radio that was connected to the head light switch / dimmer. Also, there was a gray wire with white stripe that connected from the Bose radio to the electronic heat and A/C controls. Now that the Bose radio is out of the picture, what happens with this gray/white stripe wire? It appears that the backlighting does indeed dim, but not the LCDs readouts (temp/fan speed). Any suggestions?
