My 01 has a leaking steering rack. There are no new ones and checking both NAPA and GM parts Direct they are on back order with no ETA. What I've found is a company in Mich. called Turn ONE. They will rebuild my rack for $250 plus all shipping. They seem to be a good company. I've also E-mailed Corvette Central and they have it in stock. The rebuilder is Lonestar Caliper. The cost is $205. I could take a day and drive there and back for the cost of shipping, maybe less.

Does anyone know anything about Lonestar or purchased one from CC or one of the other catalog companys. Or can someone offer any other choices. I have yet to pull mine off so CC might not have it when I do.

CAC sponsor, Zip Products, has C5 racks in stock. PN SC-730. 209 bucks plus a $400 core charge plus shipping.

If I was going to buy a rebuilt rack I'd get it from them because not only does Zip support the CAC but it, also, supports our hobby in other ways, such as sponsoring National Corvette Caravan Sections.

Thanks for the reply. I was aware they had them in the catalog. I'm speculating it's also from Lonestar as the price is nearly the same, and the core charge is the same. I'm a bit unhappy with Zip on a previous order that didn't at all compare with what was in their catalog. IMO it was a very cheap looking part. I e-mailed them about it and sent it back for refund. I thought I would get a reply back about why they were so different, but no. I cost me shipping to return a part that I feel I didn't truly order.
