I have not abused my 2008 Corvette in anyway. I'm very gentle in every way...except acceleration.

I have some light scuff or brushed areas on the interior side of my door panels. The panels are black and the marks are lighter and I can't get ride of them.

How can I remidy this! I would rather not put Armor-all on anything ...it tends to attract dust and smells bad eventually. I also hate that slippery feel it leaves behind.;shrug

I've had some success removing the scuff marks with Mr. Clean's Eraser - it looks like a sponge but it's mildy abrasive.

I'll try that. Thanks It doesnt hurt that rubberized feel though...does it?

I haven't noticed any problems yet, but......
Rub the eraser lightly at first and only enough to clean before you get too enthusiastic with it. I'm still long term testing it. ;shrug

I agree with the Magic Eraser. Wet it, squeeze it almost dry and very lightly rub on the abrasions...very lightly, and the marks should disappear.

Try C-Magic Interior Underhood Vinyl Plastic clearner. It dries quickly, does not streak (use quality microfiber towel) and removes many scuff marks. I used it on my removable plastic clear sill covers and it took the scuff marks out. Used on on a scuff on the front driver pillar and it removed the scuff mark. I use it on my dash, steering wheel, etc and it is great stuff.

Protection

Anyone know of an after market part that protects that area?

I recently bought some of the C-Magic interior product but have not tested it on the scuff marks yet. I will soon.

There are many suppliers of door sill covers that keep that area clear of scuff marks but the door panels take a hit if you brush your shoe against them getting out. I don't know of any aftermarket parts to protect the door panel.

Hi all,

Thank you for you suggestions.

I did find one of those Mr Clean Magic Erasers at home that has been in the closet (unused) for as long as I can remember. I did use it this morning and it did pick up whatever was making the marks on the door. I did however forget to lightly dampen the sponge though. I'll do that when I get home tonight when I go for the rest.

Is there...maybe a silicone based poloshing liquid (not Amor-all) that we can apply for scuff resistance or mending when cleaning? You can't just wash the door...sometimes you put more marks on the door than you began cleaning. I wonder what the manufacturer recommends...or do they know about this problem? The causes for me are the elbos, arms, fingers, clothing, and yes...feet or shoes at the very bottom.

I can deal with it, but we shouldn't have to have a second thought about it. :nono

;LOL

There's a brushed stainless steel cover that fits the lower part of the door. It's designed to combat scuff marks from shoes. Anyone have a vendor? I think the pair were about $90 give or take.
