Anyone ever use Liquid Glass - what were the results?
I just purchased some Zaino, it is a PITA to use compaired to
Liquid Glass - any thoughts

I have been using Liquid Glass since 1987. I like it very much. It leaves a nice shine and is easy to use. I've tried Zaino and it works very well also but I'm sticking with Liquid Glass for the body. I use Zaino Z10 for the leather and swear by it.

Use it about 3 times a year on the paint than wax over about once a month..also use it on my wheels about once a month

Liquid Glass is considered an average polish. Durability is the biggest drawback to Liquid Glass. In independent tests, after 5 weeks of exposure, the product was gone from the test section. Zaino lasted beyond the 8th week [end of the test].

My personal experience with the product is that it leaves a lot of residue compared to Zaino during take-off. I guess you would call that a negative but to some, it may not matter. I would have to agree with the independent tests as far as durability goes.

I have used Liquid Glass since the mid to late '80's and use nothing else, except on the '63 since it has been repainted with laquer. Had been told not to use it on laquer, but the guy didn't know anything else he was talking about, so I am up in the air as to whether to try it or not. Classic

I have been using Liquid Glass since 1970. I've used it on seven (7) corvettes & gotten excellent results every time.

I'd like to see the "independent test" that says it does not stay on long ... that's bull .. it stays on much longer than Zaino.

Liquid Glass leaves a great shine and is easy to use. I've tried Zaino and it works very well also but it requires to much work & to many steps ...

I entered in a very big corvette show at Texas Motor Speedway last month (494 corvettes) and I won 1st in my class.

I'm sticking with Liquid Glass.

:w :) :beer

When you first apply liquid glass do you have to strip all the old wax off the car first? My car has been waxed previously many times but would like to use the liquid glass instead of the present wax. If I need to strip the old wax do you use Dawn Dishwashing soap or??

I did, and I used "Dawn" - it was a snap, I had to wash the vette before polishing anyway -- you check this site to learn more about http://www.liquidglass.com/ - by the way the picture of the C3 on the polish can has been there for 20 years or more ..

Go to http://www.thewaxtest.com/ and order the test for $9.95 plus shipping. Liquid Glass finished 31 out of 46 waxes/polishes. Its overall rating is a "C" which makes it an average polish/wax. As I indicated before, Liquid Glass was gone from the test section after 5 weeks. Zaino lasted well beyond the end of the test at 8 weeks with moderate protection.

I didn't make this up! The authors received no money for their findings. Many readers comments about the test and the methods used have indicated that they are accurate.

If you enjoy Liquid Glass and you get better results than anything else, stay with it.

JJU,

Can u tell us where Zaino finished in the Test , and, who was number ONE ???

IVe used Zaino for a few years now, and , im happy with how long the shine lasts and its durability. I like the idea of getting firsthand info from Sal Zaino too...hes not too busy to answer questions and give tips.

Dave,

Zaino finished #1.

I'm sure Sal appreciates the comments and that is the reason he still takes customers' calls personally.

I used to use Liquid Glass and loved it. I stopped because there was no more - literally!
Nobody imports it anymore, I've scoured the entire city of Calgary and I've found people who used to stock it but don't carry it any longer because "it can only be imported in quantity and demand doesn't justify the price" :cry

-so I ended up trying different waxes (some of which gave my red car an aura of orange!) and settled on a 3M product.

:w

Fast Asleep,

If you live in Calgary, ALberta and cant get Liquid Glass up there...why dont you just have someone in the U.S. mail you a bottle or two (in exchange for mulllah , of course) ??? I see Liquid Glass all over where i live in Illinois.

3M rocks
the waxtest is a joke!!!

I think you should "3M rocks" because if you "3M your car" you'll have to reapply it after 6 weeks.

The original quote is nothing more than "sour grapes".

The wax test is an attempt at a "level playing field". None of the waxes/polishes claim their product works better on Ford paint or GM paint or German paint or Japanese paint. If they did, they would isolate themselves in the market. These waxes/polishes market their brand as the best on any paint PERIOD. The test cuts through all the hype. It's been my experience that the few critics of the test are MOSTLY the ones whose product(s) finished low on the list. If the critics could tell the world how to objectively measure an emotional response, the test could be better. None have.

If you believe that the categories of shine, gloss depth, clarity, etc. etc. are all subjective, look at the durability of the product for protection purposes. Those results are objective. (i.e., no beading vs. beading).

Could you scan the results portion of the test and post it ...or, could you at least list the top 5 best ones ???

Thanks.

Aren't you a supplier of Zaino?
This also makes you biased in this question.
I'm not knocking your opinion in any way just have to keep opinions based more on personal experiance than hopes of a sale.

I tossed a coin between Maguires and Zaino. I went Meguires. So far I am not at all impressed. Once I went thru the initial washing, claying, compound, polish, wax ordeal the car is always garaged. I drive it on nice days unless caught out by a bad weather report. I find the wax is gone in a couple weeks??

So once the stuff is used up I will try Zaino I think but for now the cost wasn't worth it. The entire set up was going to run a good 100 bucks so a can of LG at $10 seems like a great deal.

All personal taste

Pilot,

Yes, I am a Zaino distributor. I was a user of all products before I became a distributor. If you noticed I have only stated facts and what can easily be obtained through the public domain or by purchasing the test itself. I'll never get rich selling Zaino because I enjoy demoing it on other cars.

The test itself was unbiased.

If you noticed I have never said, "because the result of the test picked Zaino everyone else should also." I wouldn't do this because there are some good products on the market. Competition is good. I am biased to Zaino because I also use it. I also understand how other products perform because I used them at one time.

What I have a problem with is a few people that refuse to discuss their side of an opinion with anything other than emotions not facts.

I see you've discovered "the issue" with McGuiar's.

Because of the way Zaino is packaged, it looks like you are buying a small amount but in fact you can get 24 coats on your car from an 8 oz. bottle. I can and do. That comes to roughly $.54/application. I apply multiple coats because I want to, not because I have to. If you use all the products together and in the proper porportions (ZFX, Z-2, Z-6), per application it averages out to between $2 - $3/application. Add another $4.25 to $8.50 if you claybar the car. Only you can judge if you feel that is expensive.

The list is copyrighted so to avoid any problems, I'll send you EMAIL.

I thought that you must have some "personal axe to grind" - everyone else was just giving their opinion based on their own experience & I like to hear what people have to say ..

Good luck on your "Zanio Sales"

:w ;) :)
