Hello all,
i just bought a 79 L82. After getting it home I started probing around and found these wires one is a ground strap off the rear frame don’t know where the other end goes. The cluster of wires were tucked into the left fender well in the alt. Area any clues?
Thanks
Robert

1st, Welcome to CAC!!!
The top photo is a ground strap`,usually goes to the frame and/or engine, tranny,or something metal to help ground the components.
the bottom pic looks like a ground and a power(flat with the hole is the ground).look around that area to see if the plug fits some thing that isn't working.
btw,do your horns work????that could be what they are for.they are located in the front of the nose around the headlite area.

Top picture is your power antenna ground strap. There is a tab on the antenna base just above the antenna cable that it screws to.

Bottom one looks like somebody has been doing some creative wiring and maybe bypassed a circuit and disconnected the old wire. I don't have a '79 diagram to check color codes.

Google "1979 Corvette Wiring Diagram" and you will get a bunch of them.
