Need help, new owner

I just purchased a 84 corvette and have found the odometer does not turn. The lcd dash works just fine. Any help or answers would be appreciated.

there is a cable that runs from the dash to the transmisison. Is that connected on both end? Hope you ran a carfax?

Is it a wire or a cable, I think this uses a electric motor on circuit board instead of a cable. Carfax checks out okay.
