Getting ready to paint and upon removal of front bumper assembly saw that the frame extension that the bumper mounts to is damaged. Looks like car was in front end collision as its bent up a bit. Is it hard to replace this part? Is it removed and replaced with just bolts or is welding required?

Item circled in red in attachment

Any advice appreciated.

Looks like the circle is on the frame rail extensions, and cross-brace. If the frame rails are buckled all the way to BEHIND the suspension mount, then don't try to straighten them out. The frame/suspension geometry might take one hit okay, but any more adjustment might make it worse.

I don't believe it's replaceable, without some serious torchin'...

Shim the bumper if necessary.

As schrade states , area indicated is the front of the chassis; not a relacement item.Would require stripping whole front end to access and maybe put on a chassis machine to get right.

No Extensions, the front rail section runs from the front Torque Box's to the end at the bumper Tie Bar!:thumb

No Serous Heat,Thats a Big No,No!! HSLA Steel won't take High Heat without compromising Structural Integrity and requires Special Welding Equipment and I-CAR Sectioning Techniques!!:thumb:thumb:thumb
