OK Gents back from Japan and now I need a new tranny (auto) for my 92. Any tips to buy a tranny online, dealer or else? I take suggestions, comments and help.
Thanks

Is yours non-existant? or are you looking to have yours rebuilt?

I have been to the facility and must say it is top notch. He will rebuild your tranny to your specs and dyno test it ...with warranty, plus they now offer price matching. If you can find it done cheaper he will match it. He is also a member of CAC...and offers a discount for CAC members.

Do a search for netgearhead911

I have had him rebuild the tranny for my 4x4 Blazer with a 502 /502ci engine and for the life of me I cannot get it to fail.
I recommend them highly...

worth it?

is it worth to rebuild the transmission?

;help

Well that is totally up to you...Of course purists would want to keep the original parts...but again it is up to you. To have him do it you would have to remove the tranny and ship it to him....the rebuild price is around 500.00....versus say a remanufactured from other places starting at 1700.00 And you can believe the dealer will cost you twice that, the labor cost is close to the cost of the tranny...

Give Cory an email and ask for the details...I would imagine he is online as we speak...

And if you do it your self you could do it for under 300$ very possible the kits are usually 200$ plus 30-40$ for a band and I am talking balls out performance parts.. and if you want to add a shift kit to make nice quick firm shifts.. probably another hundered.. just depends.. and you won't have to pay for shipping the trans.. but trans building is a pain in the ass.. I know becuase i built mine.. so I would say if someone can do it for 500$ for you then have it done.. then you especially have someone to blame besides your self if the trans fails.. happend to me my first rebuild lasted a few months never shifted goodm just decent.. now it's bad ass.. though so i learned alot so it was worth it to me.. anyhow if you need any trans parts i bought all mine from www.bulkpart.com ... have fun..

Also take into consideration that the average Joe does not have all the speciality tools necessary to do a complete tranny rebuild.
And it is a pain in the hindparts to install a tranny to find it does not work and have to remove it all again. Makes for a nasty weekend....

True.. I probably spend a couple hundred in tools for my trans rebuild and I don't have all of em..
