I recently bought my first Vette...a 95 LT1 Convertible. The car has approximately 36k miles and I was wondering what maintenance should be done on the car to ensure that it is up to par. The only known issues is the AC blows hot air...all the time and there are small oil spots on the garage floor after it sits. These appear to be heavier oil...very black and thick. Other than those things (any ideas on the oil leak) what are some maintenance recommendations? Thanks a million.

All filters air, fuel, etc...All fluids, diff, transmission, coolant, BRAKE FLUID, etc...

Other than that make sure everything is in working order. Car is getting older so belts, hoses, t-stat, are nearing 20 year mark. Those might be a good idea if you want to drive the car and ensure reliability.

If the oil spots are black and thick, the first thing to do is get the car up on jackstands and inspect the rear axle for leakage.

Also, I'd change the rear axle lube. GM put no drain plug on D36 and D44 axles so you have to either install a drain plug or siphon or pump out the old lube.

As "93Rubie" suggests, you want to change all the other lubricants and fluids.

As suggested, change all fluids, get it up in the air and do a very close inspection of the suspension bushings, all driveline parts, u-joints etc, check wheel hub bearings, and I'd change all the hoses too...

Congrats on a great find ! that few miles, its probably in good shape, just needs the normal maint and some TLC. Definately find out whats leaking. That should be a priority. If the leak is toward the rear...as Hib says, rear end. If its toward the front of car rear of engine, intake manifold gaskets or rear main. Oil pressure sender can leak down the rear of the block as well.
When a leak is hard to find, I steam clean the underside, drive and look for the wet spots.

Thanks for all the great commments and suggestions. These things give me some places to get started. It is really a great car...just the age and the little things which needs some TLC as someone mentioned.
