New LED taillights!

Ecklers have some that look the same, but they are $99.99 per light! Wiring? Mine came with nothing but the lites. They actually have what are essentially the bottom halves of lite bulbs....they plug into the stock sockets & twist to lock(not easlily),just like 1157 bulbs. But my stock bulb sockets are different on the inside back-up lites...different bulbs(the locking tabs are different). But the LED lites are all the same.Thats why I had to cut the wires off & hardwire them into the outer lites wiring. Also,as I mentioned earlier, since the back-up lites wiring holes are higher up & they needed to be reamed out lower. ---On another note, the buyer didnt like my comments about his misleading ad,& so since Ebay decided not to allow sellers to give neg. feedback,he went after me saying I never paid him.If that was true, why did I recieve the lites,& get an email saying to "enjoy my purchase"? I sent Ebay proof by email & still got an "Unpaid Item Strike"! So,I faxed more proof and I'm awaiting results.:mad
Sorry you had a tuff time with that guy on ebay ...
Guess the bottom line is you gotum and they do look great ....
If that is the same seller ..he mentioned a backup light/lic.plate compo . comming soon .....
I wonder what the difference is between those lights on ebay and the ones from Echler? They look the same to me ...

Eckler's part number 53155 $49.99 ea.

Everything I read about converting to diodes says that you need a different flasher. Did you have to change your?

Tom

Am I looking at the same lights from Ecklers?
The ones I saw were $ 49.00 per light.
ooops! Sorry,I meant $50 a lite...about $100 more, than I paid. If they addrssed the inboard lite mount issue,it may be worth the extra price.I bought the electronic flasher that Corvette Central says you need with their lites, assuming theyd work with mine.It didnt,& at that point I left it to a Corvette mechanic freind of mine.My back/flexibility is screwed up,so I let him play with that.I will ask what flasher unit he ended up with if you'd like.

Yes ..i would like to know what he used in the way of the flasher unit ...assuming that the corvette central unit will not work with mine either .
thanks.

Completely unrelated, but just to bust your balls, you didn't garble your license plate in your first pic. :chuckle (Not that there's much reason to do so, but that's another thread topic.)

There was a pretty lengthy discussion on LED lights in these C3 forums a while ago. Here's the particular thread I'm talking about.
You can find other threads if you go up to Search -> Advanced Search and enter in the words LED AND 1157.

(Just trying to help...) :thumb

I'm saying that, in my opinion, it doesn't matter. And the CAC nor most car forums have no policy stating that you have too. In fact, I don't think any car forum requires it. Some people think it's a privacy thing. Whatever...;shrug:eyerole

Thats actually the 1st pics I ever tried that on....kinda experimenting, cuz I never really even tried to figure it out on my Photoshop.Theres about 85% of it I've never tried to use,as yet. You're right 99% of people wouldnt have access to programs to trace plates, anyway:W

Wasn't there a thread here at one where everyone showed their vanity plates?...

Yeah, likely in the OffRoad Lounge and probably started by user Vanity Plate Bob, if I had to guess...
