According to my dealer I have oil leaking out from around the oil cooler that started after a recent oil pan gasket change. I had a friend help me do the pan change and did not see a gasket come out when we did the work. Autozone does not have something like this and has not heard of one. Any one know where to find one of these or does it not exsist?

The reason you can't find one is that 95's didn't have oil coolers.
That means it's aftermarket most likely it's a o ring in the adapter that bolts up to the block take off the filter and ckeck the nut holding it on they have been known to come loose. If you didn't take it apart there you probably didn't lose the oring just loose.
Hope this solves your problem

Humm.....It's shown in the Hayes and Chiltons manuals? Could it be something else?

No I mean the oil cooler is shown in the manual and that is what the dealer said is leaking. Though I have not put the car on a rack to see for myself. I was planning on doing it this weekend when I have all the seals and gaskets to replace.

Jedi,
The only reference I can find in the 95 factory manual is to a Transmission oil cooler gasket, Vin P with M30. This relates to the transmission cooler in the radiator??? ErnieN85 is probably on the right track.

This is something sticking out of the side of the oilpan itself. Just below the oil filter but not part of the oil filter. It goes into the oil pan close to the bottom and sticks in about 3 inches. It has two wires that run out of the device and go up towards the engine block to an electrical assembly. Could be a bomb for all I know. Anyway when I tried to do the oilpan gasket recently with a friend it seems we ruined it so I have to do the whole thing over again.

I will try to do this over the weekend. I wanted to have all the parts I need before I drain the oil as the vette is my only transportation at the moment. Hopefully ErnieN85 you are correct and I just need to reset the o ring. Regardless, thanks for your help guys.

That is the oil level sensor. I havent taken one off so i can't say wether it has a gasket or not. Might just need teflon sealer.
I have a 85 so my car doesn't have that little item either.
Good luck!

Jedi,
Checked the oil level sensor in the manual & it does not show a gasket.
I guess you'll find out for sure when you pull it out.
