We have Fire now,But still No Start!! Floods out plugs immediately,No Codes stored in memory,In Data mode, scanner says Quad Driver 2 "Fault" Quad Driver 3 "Fault" I'm kinda leaning toward the ECM,but I'm going over Wiring and Grounds again!!:hb:hb MoonShine didn't make me Loose my Hair,Corvettes and My Wife did that!!:boogie:boogie:boogie

And I was hoping that you were layed up drunk:boogie Don't know how much of this I can take without a drink ;shrug Keep up the great work, now I think I'll start pulling out my hair...:rotfl
 
Jesse, I was remembering, probably doesn't have to with the car not running, but the hood lights were unpluged, also there was a fuse down below the drivers headlight that was unplugged...also the horn doesn't work, again just shot???????
 
I picked up my car from Junk Thurs afternoon and drove almost 500 miles to Bowling green.Thought I had a problem (but didn't ) I called Junk at 10 pm and he offered to come over that night.

I don't know who you could ever call in the middle of the night that would ever offer to drive 500 miles to help ya out.:D

Your in better hands than you think,he'll get it.

So, what exactly have you found Jesse? Is the problem in the Opti? I've been following this and the facts don't add up...at least for me, but that's not too difficult as the batteries on my calculator have run a bit low this week. :boogie

Well Tom, I've found several things That could have caused a NO Start condition!! First I had No Fire at the Coil and No Codes Stored!!(Scanner shows No Codes Stored and in Data Mode showing both Quad Driver 2 & 3 FAULT "YES") So then I had noticed that there were wires at the Ignition Module at the front harness below the coil had been Crimp Spliced,Heat shrinked and probed to death like someone had been there before several times!!(Car has New Alt and Batt!!) So I cut the crimps out cleaned the Green,Spliced and Soldered them and slid heat shrinks over them and shrunk them and cleaned all the grounds and cleaned the 4 wire connection at the Opti!! I then had 2 hots a GOOD GROUND,Still No Fire,and no reference voltage from the ECM on Terminal B so then I went to ECM(Found 4 wires on the red plug that had been striped of insulation in a small spot and not covered up,Probly for testing sometime or a Tuner!!) and the fuse panel inside and checked fuses and for power in there!! All seemed fine so then I went out side to the Main Fuse panels behind the battery and on the rear of the front splash shield and found the one behind the to be severely corroded!!(ECM Fuses the worst,See Blue Fuses in Photo!!) Now I have Reference voltage and Good Blue Fire at the coil ,(Thats when the coil hit me and I Whizzed down both legs!!:D:D:D) and Decent at the plugs but Not quite what I like,but it should run!! I thought to myself,Self this Baby is going to run!! (Wrong) The thing fired a few times,then BackFired out both Mufflers!!(Max,My Dog ran for cover under the Big Truck and I could hear the neighbor kids Yelling, Daddy that Man over there is Shooting at Us!!):boogie:boogie:boogie So Now I pull all the Spark Plugs and they are Dripping with Fuel!!They appeared to be the original so I replaced them and Tried again and it Flooded the plugs and didn't even Fart and the New Plugs are Dripping with fuel!!
So now I'm thinking did this thing Jump a Timing Chain?? I ran a Compression Test and all was Great,so I ruled that out and started checking for problems with the injectors and found none!! So for Grins and Chuckles I pulled the Fuel pump fuse 1&2 and Cranked it and the thing started Firring once in a while,so I had my buddy that was here at the time shove the fuses back in when it started hitting and it Started!! It then ran till it warmed up and went to Closed Loop,Popped some codes and Died!! Then intermittent Blue Fire from the Coil and intermittent Weak Red at the Plugs!! So I went for the Opti,got it out and opened it up,and it looks like it has Green Algae growing in it from a Florida Swamp!!!:hb:hb:hb The water pump is not leaking,but looks like it has been at some Point,and the anti-freeze and cooling system looks like it has some Barr's Leak or some other dark colored sealer in it!!:upthumbs
I guess I won't be able to say I have Never had to change a Opti because it Just went Bad anymore!!:D:D:D

PS The photos of the pulleys are just something I found Bad while tear down!!(Bearings are rough and the pulleys are worn funny!!)

Wow, there were so many things going wrong at once. Folks do not realize how patient technicians need to be while troubleshooting these things.

I've seen them with 200,000 miles and never a Problem!!:beer:beer


Wow, there were so many things going wrong at once. Folks do not realize how patient technicians need to be while troubleshooting these things.
I think most of them were just problems waiting to happen and Not the problem!!;shrug;shrug:upthumbs

Following this thread was just like listening to my old time radio tapes.

I have been following the thread too, just like I did with Dawn's problem. It is like a radio serial. I wonder if the corvette runs on Blue Coal (you have to know the early Shadow shows to understand the last remark). I will tune in next week, same time, same station to see what the outcome is. I believe Junk is approaching the final episode.
