Welcome to the Corvette Forums at the Corvette Action Center!

Only the 96 has it!

The only thing that worked on my 850csi was the automatic window system. As well as express up&down the windows and sun roof would automatically close when you pushed the lock button on the key fob. Moni´s new Euro-legal Pontiac van has express up and down maybe it is a Euro thing.

This is the first I've seen of this. I haven't been checking in on this thread because it appeared to be handled, then Selim makes the following statement:

"So what" to this thread... So useless discussion occupying time and space at CAC guys & girls...
That is so unlike you Selim. May I ask what brought that on?

We will have no more of that, understand?

SSTibet's comments do not bother me and he has a right to complain and we all should try to be more understanding for he has been living in a different country which isn't the garden spot of this planet.

I'm sorry and I'm new so maybe I shouldn't say this but I think he's rude and his message was uncalled for and the other gentleman was right. Don't like the post, thread, discussion? Don't read it, don't go there, don't reply, and don't be rude.

We can get rude 24x7 these days. How about not on this site.

I honestly never knew that cars would have express up because I safety reasons.

Edmond- I think you can order that feature on the new Volkswagen vans with the Jack Kevorkian package...

Understood boss :D . I was upset with something else when I typed that message, sorry :(. Will not be rude like that again. You are right, I should just ignore the discussion. Stupid me.

Interesting thread.

Kingman and PLRX - - what are the unique parts to a '96?

PLRX, you mentioned exhaust - any details? Where can we find some more on this subject? Thanks !:w

Exhaust?

MarkSC4 l had no idea about the exhaust but it seems that for the model 96 GM,
Must have been trying out some new stuff.

The best thing that they did which l do not have and l really blew it was the LT4 engine.

I thought that l knew most of the changes but as time goes on and new members join the CAC the list starts to go on and on.

Alan

p.s. SSTibet, no hard feelings because if l get to your part of the world l might want to take you vette out for a spin!

Kingman, come over and show me how to drive that thing. I am a very "mild" driver, never race the car or do exciting stuff with it.

Cheers,

Selim

Are you kidding me!!!!!!

SSTibet

Your probably a NASCAR racer! By the way what is the speed limit in your area and what about the conditions of the roads.

Where l live the speed limit is 65 mph and you can stay at about 75/80 mph without fear of being stopped.

The roads here are ok but very congested so when l decide to play and pass 125mph it gets scarey because trucks here have a habit of picking up and throwing stones or pebbles that can rain havoc on ones paint. Oh, l forgot to mention that we are being over run with "deer" and there is at least one new dead deer on the side of the road every day.
Alan

I have noticed that some catalogs list parts 92-95 and then list a 96. I never really understood that myself. I thought if it was an LT4 specific part, they would've put down *96 LT4 only or something like that.

The ’96 throttle body is unique to the ’96 Corvettes -- as is the LT4 exhaust system. The LT4 has a balance tube near the differential where the LT1 equipped Vettes do not.

That has something to do with the number of PETA's and Antis in your state;LOL
BTW Venison is quite tasty, when you see a fresh kill call the local PD for a permit and have it butchered.

Strange 96

Edmond

While thumbing through a vette catalog l noticed the same thing you did that for the model year 96 there were items that stood by itself. And l'm not really saying that it's any better then the 95, just different.

There must have been a lot of little changes that they were trying out like they have a switch to turn on the aux fan for all models except the 96.

I would love to find a site where they list all of the changes for the 96.

Where the brakes the same as the 95?

While I was looking for parts (cat-back sys, coils and cables) I noticed the 96 Vette has a different part number than 92, 93-95. I think the LT4 component are different. Maybe I'm wrong I do not owe a LT4 (I wish!)

This one is not for a 96, why? I do not know

Don't worry, Alan. I didn't take your post as saying that the 96's were better. I personally find it weird. I would've thought that all LT1 cars would have compatible parts. I can see the LT4 differences.

I was kind of disappointed that 96's only came in auto's except for the LT4.

I believe ODBII is one answer, perhaps? :confused

New England Wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edmond

The 96 in our own hearts is no better then the orig 84 where it all started with the C4's.

When l first saw the 84 in Cailf (white 0ne) l thought it was awesome and when l finally drove it l was impressed with the performance. But at that time l had a 76.

We love what we have and what we wish we had.

Alan

Kingman, what you said is an interesting point to me. I would probably die for a 95 year Corvette 10 years ago... Sometimes we underestimate our cars and envy the newer models. There is nothing wrong with that, we are all humans and we all want the better.

First time I came to USA was for 7 months in 1985/86 (Cincinnati), second time was for 3 months in 1990 (San Jose). My 1995 was not even designed yet... I think last was in 1996 (PenState) or so for a few weeks when 95 was brand new. I was used to hear the name Corvette but did not get interested since I was unable to afford one at those times.

I know technology of the newer models has advanced features, and the cars are getting more and more powerful. But every year Corvette is beautiful & powerful. The C4 has its own looks that the C5 / C6 does not have. I love what I already got.

It always amazes me the amount of detailed info I can find on this forum.
There's truly nowhere else to get as much scoop!
Thanks to All ! :w
