Wow, sorry to hear this Shooter! I hope this is not as bad as you think.

I thought that rev limiters were supposed to prevent damage?:confused

Rev limiters work when your going up thru the gears, not on a bad down shift...

GM Rearch Has Shown...........

Under normal circumstances this is true. But research has shown that with the Millenium Yellow cars there was a phenomenon, much like organ rejection. For example, the paint cost extra because GM has to develop a a special primer that would not reject the yellow paint. Later they began to realize that other systems were affected. As I recall the "rev limiters" on the yellow cars often malfunctioned. Some owners were notified that they should purchase a fairly new anti-rejction drug known as "Sirolimus." Apparently GM recommended placing (2) 1000mg tablets into the gas tank on every fill up. All available data indicates the treatment has been successful. :L

I think you may be onto something, Remo. I just found this info on Drugs.com (I swear I didn't make this up). Pay close attention to the part in color:
"Side Effects of This Medicine
Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:Black or red, tarry stools; chest pain; general feeling of discomfort or illness; shortness of breath; swollen glands; weight loss, unusual; yellow skin and eyes."

And here all this time, I thought Millenium Yellow contributed to Global Warming. I was all prepared to blame Dwayne for the plight of the polar bears.

Well this site is better than WebMD! It has drugs, LS drugs (in this case drug LS6) and lots of semi-medical advice and theories.

Lou I am glad to see that you are satisfied with your cure.

Remo - I don't know what to say. You have that mighty drug from Lingenfelter labs so I guess that is where your writing inspiration comes from.:D

It will really start to come on after 40-45,000 miles,Unless of coarse you happen to miss a shift!!!!
