The C5 Corvette guys seem to have good luck with this - One guy wrecked his car off a track, nose was fine under the stuff :eek

This is similar to what we saw on the Black Speedster at Bloomington :upthumbs

They also make headlight/foglight/side mirror kits if you don't want the full-on effect. Good for protecting those apparently hard to find aerobody fog lights! Plus, they have UV protection which should help prevent yellowing of the plastic.

I have them on my headlights and fogs to prevent chips. So far so good at 26k miles. It's easy to install those yourself, though you should probably have someone do it for the full-on bumper protector. :)

P.S. This place: http://www.properautocare.com/headsaffil.html sells the Xpel headlight kits. They sell them at a fixed price, $45 for any kit. So this might be cheaper than direct from Xpel. They were about $10 cheaper when I got mine. :w

Sorry guys just a short question.

Is there so much stuff on the hiway in the States that you need a bra?
Or do you want to keep you're car's almost as new?

I've been to NY last year for one week and a also saw a bra on a mazda or honda (whatever) I still have to see the first bra here in Holland. I think the little dammage (spots) in the paint do not weigh enough to put on a bra..
But if you compare our roads to the belgium ones we almost drive on ballroom carpet :)

I think thats because the woman in Holland are probably more opened minded than those in the United States.......opps, sorry, wrong forum :L

Hey, just wanted to add in this product. It's more for bugs than for rocks, but might be useful for those of you that don't want to put a film on the tape. I just got some and look forward to trying it out: http://www.prowax.com/specialty_prods.shtml#S-10

It says it goes on 7-10 mils thick, which is about 1.5-2 times thicker than your paint. On my Aurora, chips are rare as the paint seems to suck it up well. There are a few small impressions and some white marks, but no real chips, so the extra buffer from this stuff might be enough for most situations. Who knows.

Anyway, it's just another option, but one more geared towards bugs. Those 3M films make me nervous when it comes time to remove them. Paint only sticks to the panel but so hard, especially on plastics liks most bumpers are made of. :)

Last night at WalMart, I saw a 3m product that was a roll about 6" wide and might be of use to trim down for the contours of the painted parts in the wheel wells - the AeroBody may appreciate it ;)

Anyone use this, or a similar product??

I've heard of this 3M film, but have never seen it on a car. I thought about having it in the areas behind the wheels to prevent tar from sticking... not sure if it would work for that though...

Callaway sent me pieces of this 3m product when they shipped my Aerobody.

Hey Chris, I think I offered in the past but maybe I forgot. If you want a few ounces of the Bug Guard to try out, I'll gladly hook you up with a sample. It's obviously less permanent than the 3M film, but on the plus side it's less permanent than the 3M film. ;)
