park lights don't shut off, just put in new headlight switch thinking that was the problem, anyone have an idea where to look next ?

What kind of car is this? A 1903 Franklin maybe? :L

Seriously, we need a clue as to which Corvette you refer to. ;)

Sorry I had posted this in the wrong catagory previously and just didn't get the year this time, it's a 88 convt, not mine but another club member's but it's in my garage and my car is out in all the ash that's falling due to the forest's going up in smoke around here.

Well, at this point all I can suggest is to go back through the steps you performed when you changed the light switch. If things were alright before the switch was changed, then it should be alright now as long as all of the wires are hooked up correctly, and it's kinda hard to go wrong with that.

that was the reason for changing the light switch, the park lights weren't shutting off, seemed logical to me that it was the switch causing the problem.

Motor running? Motor off?
Is this some sort of 'daytime running' light installation for Canada that isn't working right?

nope, no special features, the park lights just refuse to turn off with the light switch in the off position, I'm thinking a relay or something like that, no fuses for those lights, apparently the wiring goes through the steering column to the turn signel module as well, got a shop manual coming anyway but hoping to fix this thing sooner
