Plastic-Like Light Crunch Sound When Depressing Clutch Pedal

When I press on the clutch to shift, there is a somewhat plastic-like short "crunch" sound on the way to the floor. Everything is solid & no issues, other than this funny and mildly annoying sound.

What is going on, and how do you remedy this? Its really seems just like an "auditory cosmetic" condition. I used to have the same exact thing occur for years when I drove a Nissan 300ZX. Thanks for your help!

I've heard the "wrong" clutch fluid will cause this. Some additive??

Anyway my kids Corolla does it & I may try chg the fluid to factory spec to see.

Just corrected the problem last night......all I had to do was spray the clutch pedal hinge area with WD40 and the noise is gone!

Isn't it great when the repairs are this simple AND inexpensive!?

Good work,

You may want to spray something heavier like white grease for a more long lasting fix, WD will wear off in a few months. Also ck if there is a bushing, they get elongated & need replacing sometimes.
