Please help me test a A6 A/C Compressor Coil

Is there anyone out there with an A6 Air Conditioning Compressor that would be willing to help me out? Mine is from an original 1975 car and I'm trying to determine if the coil is within electrical tolerance. I've been told to unplug the connector and use a ohm meter on the two posts. I should get a reading between 4.5 and 4.7 ohms. I've tested two now and they read 8.2 and 8.7 ohms but neither of them were on a known working compressor.
If you have a known operational compressor will you please test the coil and telling me what the ohm reading is. I will be forever greatful!

Compressor specs section in the Chassis Overhaul Manual calls out 3.7 ohms for the clutch coil.

Thanks John. I have the manual but couldn't find it. Most likely I was in too much of a hurry. I guess it's time to buy a new coil.
