You are correct. If you don't think resonance will be a problem for you hearing it all the time, enjoy the sound of muff elims and saving weight is a big issue, then muff elims may be for you.FX GS said:Considering getting the PE capsules (mufflers) but if you run with them open most of the time, why not just get muffler eliminators and save a ton of $$$?
Would not the result be the same plus you would save alot of weight.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I can tell ya, it ain't for me. I don't like the sound of muff elims. The PE sound, blows it away. Keep in mind sound is very subjective. You can eliminate the resonance if you get tired of it by closing the flaps. I adjust the flaps when I'm autocrossing. Shutting them down some and having more back pressure gives it more bottom end torq. At the 1/4 mile, I open them up all the way and on Dyno runs. I'm very picky on how my tailpipes look and how well the mufflers look. The PE capsules tuck up real nice. The resonance is alittle louder now that I installed the Random cat converters. This PE use to be installed on my 91 auto w/2.59 rear and stock converters. It did not have any resonance at all.
If you come around again and hook up with 89x2, let me know. I give you a first hand demo.
