I have a 2000 C5 with the 7 way seats. All basic seat movements work; however, the switches that control the lumbar pump and release won't work. And, the switch that controls the seat-side panles to pull in or move out doesn't work either. When I move any of these three switches, nothing happens. I can hear a soft buzzing /humming noise, yet no response. Any suggestions besides trade it in for a NEW ZR1 :upthumbs?

Thanks ----- RICK :w

If you hear the motors operate, then they are working. What has probably happened is your bladders are busted. This is a common failure, and the dealership wants over $800 for the bladders alone. I replaced my bladders with medical bladders for less than $60. Work like a charm.

Hey, Thanks for great advice about the medical bladders. I'll look into that a little better. Hopefuly I'll be able to solve this problem.

Great Photo. I'm currently replacing the leather seat panles for my Vette. Now would be a great time to replace the bladders.

If you are replacing the leather, you may want to look at my write-up as I totally reinforced my seats from future wear and tear. My foam still looks brand new and I redid my seats 3 years ago.

That is a FANTASTIC idea. I had two places in my seats that torn in the exact same spot. I knew I would have to reinforce the seats in these areas, but I was unsure how I was going to go about doing it. Thanks again for the AWESOME advice. Loos like I have lots of fun work to look forward to this weekend.

I thought it through for a year before I did my seats and did that writeup. The improvements have really saved my seats big time. I think you'll be happy with the results. ;)

I also went ahead and purchased some new foam for the seats. I figured, why just do the job half way. Hopfully this will help out too. Your idea will definitely help protect the new foam. THANKS :beer

If your foam was damaged, new foam will be a major improvement. My seats are very firm as I pulled the covers very tight and snug. A pair of hog ring pliers are going to do wonders for the job too. If you don't have any, get some along with some hog rings.
