Hi ya'll-
I am a regular in the C3 section... but I maybe moving on to a C4 in the next few months.

There is a 1995 in my area with 83k on it. Hunter green, tan interior, A4 tranny, and its not an LT4. Asking price is $16900.

Any thoughts?

Value is subjective.. but...

IMHO that seems a bit on the high side for a coupe with those miles. But, if it is everything you want, go for it.

To High........nine year old car.........I saw a 95 Black on Black for sale for 10,000.00 just last week.......and that was a litlle high , I thought........just my TWO CENTS worth.....

This is a little high I just bought a 95 for almost the same price, but mine is a vert and has 60k. Most of the time the vert option adds about 4k to the price. Hope this helps.

With that kind of mileage (83K) the life of many components are either at or beyond expectation IMO. If possible ask what has been recently replaced or serviced such as: water pump, Optispark (complete tune up), starter, Alternator, rear Bearings and U-Joints, shocks. There are visual checks you can make as well such as Brake pads, tire condition etc. and overall feel of the car when test driving, all of which play a part in determining how much to offer for the car. You can easily drop $4-5K if these items need replacing. All in All I would look at the Kelley Blue book pricing for your area and use that as a baseline then start subtracting out the cost of the items needing replacement to get to fair price... Good luck...

My research has lead me to believe that LT1 C4s are usually in the neighborhood of $1K to $2K higher at most dealerships than kelley blue book.

Guess the economy is doing better than I thought.

We'll see, right?

Thanks to everyone for all the info so far.

High.

it's high...

DarkShark78-

A point of reference. About 3 wks ago I traveled to Berryville VA (from Alexandria) to buy my 95 coupe (see photo). Found it on autotrader.com. Owner was asking $17k, he accepted my offer of $16.5. Car had 32,600 mi when I took possession of it. He had put new tires on it about 6,000 miles ago. I needed to replace the rear pads and rotors.

Thanks. I'll try to look for one with a better price.
