Product Review: C5 LED Tail Light Conversion Kit

I've had the kit on the car for about three weeks and I'm surprised at how bright those things are. We went to dinner and a movie a few nights ago with some other Corvette people and, when we got to the brewpub , the guy driving behind me commented about the tail lights.

I continue to be surprised by how easy it was to install those things. I'm not an EE but I suspect there are several ways to set up an LED conversion as far as how it adapts to the car's existing wiring. I think the Zip Products folks took the best path to that. Those LED taillight assemblies might cost a little more to make, but the way they connect to the car's harness makes the installation a snap.

As I said in the review, I'm pretty happy with the conversion.

I been considering these, but one question. Do the turn signals flash at their normal rate? I seem to remember reading it caused them to hyper-flash. The problem might have been cheap bulbs though.

Mark.

I was already saving up to buy these when Hib put in his great review. I did buy them and put them in. Like he said, piece of cake. 15-20 minutes. As for the rapid blink, I'd have to say "yes and no" for me. The ones on the right side blink at a normal rate. The ones on the left usually (not always) blink at a normal rate until I put the brake on. Once the brake is applied, they do the fast blink. Let off the brake, they usually go back to normal mode. Again, only see this on the left side. Right sides behave normally. I've taken them out and put them back in with no change. Planning on swapping the left ones out with each other and see if that helps.

But, even still, I do like these things.

Here's a couple of shots, first with just headlights, second with brakes on. The lefts have the new lights, rights don't. I'm not a photographer or an internet specialist. Please forgive if not proper format or what not.
