Hey guys I was referred to this site by a guys at CorvetteForum and the site looks really good. Anyways I am trying to find out how you can determine production #'s for my car. Basically I want to know exactly how many cars were produced with the exact same options, colors etc...? Can any one help me out on this one? I am assuming that it goes off of the VIN#, is that correct?

Thanks,
Solomon

On this site go to the TECH Center,Click on model, click on year. There is a lot of data there.

The VIN number doesn't have any information on options other than the engine digit where one of the optional engines were installed in the car (LT4 and LT5 motors.

GM did not keep any specific records on cars built with what options. For example there is no data available to show exactly how may red 92 Verts with black interiors and 6 speeds with FX3 suspension were built. If you look thru the different years in the Model Center, you can find how many individual options were produced for all cars of that year. In the 92 example, there were 5,487 6-speeds installed in the entire production run of 20,479 cars )both coupes and 'verts), but that also includes all 502 ZR-1's which had 6-speeds.

You could come up with estimates by using the figures to come up with possible percentages of packages in cars but that's about it.

You could have a dealer or body shop run your VIN and it would give you all the options your car has but it wouldn't tell you how many other cars have the same.
If you can find a copy of the Corvette Black Book (1953-2003 is the latest edition) it contains production numbers for each individual option but not for a combination of options for any given car.
Or you can try http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/specs/c4/1984/index.html
