Has annyone experince with the use of a high rpm manifold and cam, like the miniram with a lt4 hot cam ( or simular ), and stock bottom end? Can u have a stock bottom end L98 and shift at 6200rpm for years and years and not brake it? Or do you basic run a "time bomb" with this setup?
If I should use a miniram lt4 hot cam afr 190 heads, I should have peak HP at 6500rpm ( or higer ), is that safe if you wil use a "light" valve train? And you have a low milage car.

Thanks

"The L-98 engine and high rpm." Isn't that an oxymoron? :L

Sorry, couldn't help myself. :o

Yes, you can build the L-98. In fact, it makes for a very good starting point depending upon how big you want to go (if you're planning a stroker motor). :upthumbs

Ken, I thought so!

I think the engine longevity will have more to do with how it is maintained and how 'beaten' it is, than where it is shifted. I see no reason why a stocker cannot do just fine to 6200 rpm, but I'd defer to a few others in here.

So nice to see enthusiasts in Sveden.

I would say yes and no. The crank is nodular and since it will just be 6200 blasts and not staying there you should be fine.

The rods and Pistons should survive too.

I am using Hypereutectic pistons in my motor, a Scat Steel Crank, and Stock 5.7" rods. I did however replace the rod bolts which will be the weakest link your set-up.

Still I think if the Motor is not going to live at 6200 you should be fine, As for how long it will last, who knows..
