Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to raise a C4 Rear suspension? I see shims under the leaf spring. If I move them to the top of the leaf spring will that raise the car?

Thanks!!!!

I am sure someone that has done it will jump in , but for the time being everything I have seen on the forum says change the bolt length at the end of the spring. Using grade 8 bolts of course.

:w

Robt,

My 2 cents...

I you do a research, you'll find out many of Corvette owners low or raised their Vettes and they were not satisfied with the results and returned to the "stock" suspension. If curiosity is a factor try, you may or may not like it.

To raise it you would only have to tighten up on the bolts to put more tension on the spring. However, I don't know how much lift would be acceptable with that method. ;shrug

To lower the rear you need to get longer bolts and slacken the tension on the spring.

Be sure to use a cotter key or safety-wire the castle nuts if you change the nut's position, and have it aligned if you alter the height either way. ;)
