Raising the rear ride height in a C4

Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to raise a C4 Rear suspension? I see shims under the leaf spring. If I move them to the top of the leaf spring will that raise the car?

I am sure someone that has done it will jump in , but for the time being everything I have seen on the forum says change the bolt length at the end of the spring. Using grade 8 bolts of course.

My 2 cents...

I you do a research, you'll find out many of Corvette owners low or raised their Vettes and they were not satisfied with the results and returned to the "stock" suspension. If curiosity is a factor try, you may or may not like it.

To raise it you would only have to tighten up on the bolts to put more tension on the spring. However, I don't know how much lift would be acceptable with that method.

To lower the rear you need to get longer bolts and slacken the tension on the spring.

Be sure to use a cotter key or safety-wire the castle nuts if you change the nut's position, and have it aligned if you alter the height either way.
