Before I tear apart my rearend system to get to the u-joint on the end of the driveline from the transmission, I need help. Is the a better way? As I look at it the books say remove the rear housing bracket to get to u-joint but my bracket is molded into the housing and there is no clearence between the housing and the crossmember. Help

You can access the bolts retaining the U joint from the front. Use an extension and I believe the socket is a 1/4" 12 pt. You can then push the drive shaft in to the transmission, that will give you the clearance needed.
