reduced power on dic

yesterday while driving 55 mph on a country road my 98 corvetteshut down to about 800 rpm the dic read reduced power and the check engine light came on i drove it about a mile pulled off the side of the road let it sit about 5 minutes and it cranked up and ran fine however the checjk engine light was still on. i drove home let it sit about an hour cranked it up and everything was fine no check engine light ,no reduced power it was fine whats up?????????????/

Hi there,
I would recommend that you retreive codes from the DIC, and let us know what you have as far as the PCM, and the TCS computers.
If you do a search here, these instructions on how to do this will show you what to do.
Then, post the codes, and let us know.

Have you had the steering lock recall done to the car? This can make the car shut down on power. If you don't know, post the VIN and I will vis the car right now and tell you if it's been done.
