UPDATE- Remote... dropped....

Ugh...

As I was going to my car this morning, I dropped my remote. Then, well it stopped working. I think I heard the trunk pop open a few times ( maybe I was just tired!) before it quit. Perhaps the battery.

So, what is the procedure to "recognize" a remote? (Maybe I just need to get a battery- its pretty old!)
How much are new remotes?
Who has the best price?

Thanks in advance!

UPDATE-

I have re-trained the remote, but it seems that the car "locks" and unlocks twice each time a button is pressed. Is that how it arms and I just never noticed?

The trunk doesn't pop twice, but I hear the solenoids actuate twice each time the buttons are pressed. Is that part found within the "quick configure", and therefore normal? Or, did I goof in programming the fob?

To re-sync your remote with the car, sit in the driver seat and then hold down the lock and open button till you hear the horn beep once. Thats it, your done..

And if that doesn't work, try a new battery. Always try the easy stuff first.

U1064-

Loss of communications with DTC. Is that a malfunction in the unit (keyless system) or that the BCM thinks the remote is dead?

Anyone had that one? What is a good trouble shooting proceedure to put this one to bed?
