Does anyone know how to remove the wire holders for the underhood lights without ruining them?

I am finally changing my '84 hood to a later C4 to accommodate the TPI conversion and need to shoot the black paint.

Thanks.

If you are talking about the push in snap clips then you have to get on the back side with a pliers and squeeze them.

Thanks, Glenn.

Yes, those. The backside is not accessible. I hoped someone figured out a way to get to the inaccessible tabs. :w

Try pushing the cutout side of the clip in with the thinnest, strongest, little flat blade screwdriver in your toolbox.

About 50% of the time I get lucky and the sucker comes out without hurting the wires.

SPANISHVETTS! You live! Great to see after LTNS and thanks. I am ON this today, hopefully painting in the heat wave.

Done!

Not my fav f=task as some came out with relative ease, while others, with a tight fit in the holes were a different matter. A combination of the real thin needle nose and a watchmaker-type screwdriver to depress the pin while inside the hole, did it...... slowly, but did it.
