Reupholstering Seats - Need Repair Plate?

I'm about to install new seat covers and foam. Is it a good idea to also install repair plates for the seat back regardless if your frame is broken or not?

I don't know,at $25 bucks a piece I would inspect the frame when you get them apart and give anything suspicious a good re-weld.
