reverse lights

i was able to get the shifter knob switched over tonight and it works great in all gears, even when i have to pick up on the lever to put the tranny in reverse, the only problem i ran into is the reverse lights dont come on when in reverse, anybody got any ideas about this?

Did it work before you did the shift knob swap, or did you just notice that they don't work now? The 6-speed cars have a problem with the switch on the tranny itself. My guess is yours is bad and needs to be replaced.

I'm not sure if this is related or not, but on my C5 I had to replace my reverse lights switch after the shift knob was changed out. THe switch was about $35, but with labor about $125.

no the lights were working great when the original switch was on there. while i was changing the knob i actually had the car in reveres for angle reason and i could see the the light reflecting in the garage door.once the old knob was off i put the car in neutral and installed the new one, went back to reverse to make sure i could get the new knob in reverse and the lights were out

If the lights were shining off the door, the car was running?
