Rocker Arm Question

Hey Everyone,

Quick question: can i switch from the stock rocker arms to roller tip rocker arms without replacing anything else?

If you are talking about the stamped rockers with the roller tip they should fit under the valve covers with the stock type adjusting nuts. Full roller rockers with posi-locks will require taller valve covers.

Roller-tip rocker arms (like the Comp Cams Magnum rockers) require pushrod guide plates, which require machining the rocker stud bosses; that's a lot of time, effort, and money to gain (maybe) 5hp.

True but they claim that their rockers are closer to a true 1.5 than factory stamped. I was so convinced that I didn't spend the extra money on my engine. I doubt that you could tell any difference on a mild street engine. The $$ would be better spent elsewhere.

Yeah, that's quite a bit of effort. If it was a simple bolt-on, then it would be worth it.

I would have gone from 1.5 to 1.6.
