Roof Panel

First off, I just want to say hello to all. I have a question about the C4 fiberglass roof panel. Is there a way, when I'm at the swap meets to identify which year panel will fit my 93. Is there a P/N I should look for? I would like to have the painted top for my car. I already have the clear one. Thanks in advance.

the rear bolt spacing is the same on all years. only the front is different. an easy way is to measure your front bolts. measure from the each side to the bolt, and the spacing between them. I wouldn't trust anyone to tell you what top will fit your car, most of the people don't even know what they have.

Thanks for the info. I have heard that you can use an older top and change the front mounting hardware. Is this true, Or not worth the trouble?

yes, this is true, but you would be changing the car, not the top. this means you couldn't use the panel that came with the car anymore. It is best to stick with what you have, which is the latest version of the top. They are usually the easiest to find anyway.

If you have an Ecklers catalog there is a pic of the mounting hardware on the front of the top. Take this w/ you for reference. The tops are as follows
84 - early 86
late 86 - 88
89 - 96.
The hardware on the car can be changed to fit any top. Good Luck, Guy

The 1984 thru 1986Early design measures 4 9/16" from the sunvisoe pin and the 1986Late and up measures 2 3/4".
