What do you think of that double rotor brake system? Seems like it would significantly increase unsprung weight to me unless those discs aren't vented (if that's the case, I'd be afraid of rapid warping). It might be ok for situations with wheel size constraints like a Mini Cooper, but if those were 13" rotors, the handling handicap would seem to be greater than the benefit of the improved braking.

I'm no engineer, but if the Vette is to have 18 / 19" wheels regardless of the brake system ( I can't see them putting 15 / 16" wheels on the vette again - even with super low profile tires), the only way this system would be used is if at a lb for lb basis (unsprung weight only) it is equal or better than a contemporary single rotor system. If equal, the reduction of the power booster would swing the decision, IMO.
 
The way they described those brakes, it soundes like the dics were stationary and the calipers moved with the wheels. Wouldn't that be extremely unbalanced? Unless they had a counterweight, which of course means adding weight. Am I missing something here?
 
The wording may be a bit confusing, but look at the illustration. Clearly the caliper is attached to the mount that attaches to the Upper and lower A-arms - or their equivalent.
