WOW :eek

that is cool, you can send it to me ;)
I bet it looks very cool next to my pearl yellow C12 in the display.

You have magic hands

Revell's new goodies are sweet!!!

This month Revell has released its very new C6R and Z06 models in 1:25th scale. Well, by now you should know what I plan to do with these buggers..Callaway Corvette Z06R....
I will rough one together for concept and prototyping, but #2 is going to be the most detailed model I have ever done. I have been working with the larger diecasts for a few years as a change of pace, but my roots are in smaller plastic. Funny thing is that the smaller scale cars are FAR MORE detailed. This bad-boy is gonna have everthing from fuel plumbing to plug wires. May take me a few years though. Keep ya posted...mike

I think you should go into business!

Building the Monogram Speedster...

Well, In honor of our newest Callaway Owner, I have decided to do something I have never done before...build a model like it is from the box!!

I will be walking you through a build-up of the purple speedster with some minor correcting and detailing as we go..The secret to building a good model is not getting in a hurry...I have some that took 10 years...Remember that building them is really where the fun is..

First item is the engine block-rear diff--trailingarm combo, it comes as two pieces that are glued together. The key is smoothing the seam with a little bit of spot putty, sand, prime and spray aluminum.

For the rollbars, I use 3.0mm Evergreen tubing. To hold the bends better you can insert a brass rod to hold it.

Twin Sons of Different Mothers..

Just completed the 5th Callaway Z06R GT3 (#4 is Silver and on its way to Germany to the cars father: Ernst, #5 is for a friend of Callaway here in the USA). Hopefully you will be seeing these in a diecast magazine soon...more to follow.

That's VERY cool! I'm honored! Let me know if you need any detailed photos as you work through it. I have the car on a lift in the garage, so I can send chassis photos as well.

Jon, that would be very nice..does it have the vert x-bar? A shot of the exhaust would be helpful as well..thanx mike

Incredible...

I can't wait to see the purple Speedster get finished.

Maybe when I finally get a C8, I can save some of the Nassau Blue/Mystic Teal mixed paint and you can make me a mini C8! :)

I'm sure it would put my unfinished model to shame haha.

Building models is exhausting....

I slapped together the speedster exhaust and realized it was not even close to the purple speedster's ...so modifications are being made..

Update photo on the C6 Supercharged "Orange Crusher"..All she needs is a few decals and some hoses.
