scotchgarding a top?

I am in the process of cleaning my convertable top, after it's cleaned should I spray it with something like scotchgard? I don't plan on getting it wet but it does happen.

Get some Hartz Raggtopp cleaner and sealer. You can get it from the Museum.
That is the best. The sealer repels water.
