good information. The rear hatch opening with the key is totaly new to me.
Max

It's all new to me ;LOL.
Thanks.

and if you press recall with the radio off, car on or off, it will display the time for a few seconds.

Wow! Great info! Much appreciated.

How the heck did you find these tidbits out ? I like the one about turning off the DRL's with one click of the ebrake. Gotta try that one in the morning !!

I got an email from my father in law about them. I am not sure where he got the info, but I thought it would be great to post it so everyone could share.

I think the one click with the e-brake works on most (if not all) GM cars with the DRLs. It has worked on several Tahoes and Suburbans that I have owned. My sales guy told me about it.

The ebrake trick to turn the DRL's off didn't work. Does it matter if it's an Auto or Stick ?

I have a 2001 c5 and didn't realize I could display the inside temperature. By default mine displays outside temp. How do I change this?

-If you have the passive entry feature: If you lock your keys in the car, wait a few minutes and then shake the car. That will unlock the car.
The old key fobs had a motion sensor in them that would signal the car as you approached and unlock the doors. If you jiggled the car with the fob in it you could activate the fob mechanism. GM no longer makes these fobs, at least not for the vettes.

I've heard about this but never tried it:

If you start a C5 with the door open, accidently hit the key fob & lock the doors, get out and close the door, you will have a locked car running.

Which one do you have?

Most of these "secrets' are revealed in the owner's manual.

Zippy :) :)

Dayum!

I thought it was just transportation and a chic car (not in that order). Ya mean it's got brains too? I just push in the left foot, move the lever in the middle of the console, let the left foot out, push down hard with the right foot and go like hell. Why do we need all this other stuff? :D
