How do I uninstall a leather shifter knob from a 91 automatic?

Carefully pry the button up and off, then take a flashlight and you will see a snap ring in the bottom. Remove it with a pair of snap ring pliers and your in or I mean off. 84 CF 91 ZR-1

knob removal on a 94 6speed?

Do you remove the shifter knob the same way on a 94' 6 speed?, Mines pretty well shot and I would like to replace it also...
but don't have a clue on how??

This is how mine came off my 94 auto.

I have not looked at the manual version?
I don't think you have a "button" on the top like the autos.
Every std I ever had the knob came off by twisting it (threaded on).
There may be some sort of set screw that locks in place ??
Just a guess

for the 6 speed. pop the top off (the plastic part with the shift diagram on it) and there is a T-Pin in there. Pull out the pin, and then twist off.
