Has anybody used KYB shocks on thier C4. Are they any good. Both my front shocks are leaking and the front end seems to be bottoming out. My 86 C4 conv. has 50,000 miles on it . With the front transverse leaf sping I feel I need a better shock than the stock ones. I can get a good price on KYB's. Money is a concern for me right now since my other half is building a new house. Thanks for any info......Bob

I just put a set on this winter, but the car is still on jack stands so I didn't get to try them yet.

Where is a good place to order them from...my 86 needs a set.

BTW, the front shocks look almost too easy to replace...what about the rear????

I got mine from Summitracing.com

Wel I put the fronts on last night in my parking lot and it was a peice of cake. I just raised the hood and used a little bottle jack. I was finished in about 30 mins. The ride is BACK. I'm very pleased with the KYB's. The rear shocks look a little harder But I can wait till I have my garage back. Thanks for the Info.....Bob

just put the KYB's on my 95' I like them stiffer ride then my 47K bilstiens.. I think I will have the bilstiens rebuilt at some point but for now I'm enjoying the stiffer ride... along with my new upgraded brakes..

Absolutely best place to buy shocks is www.shox.com you have to call them.......they will sell you retail even though the site looks like wholesale only.....

No pun intended....but KYB'S are cheap....if you are going to do it....get the best.......they will last, and you will be happier...
been there....done that...

KYB shocks

Hello:

I just installed a set of kyb's on my 89 Vette this past Sunday.

They are great!

I run with Koni's in the front and KYB's in the back. This seem to be the right combination of performance and ride quality that I have been looking for. The car really sticks to the road and takes the bumps really well.

www.c4dhr.com had a set of koni shocks fo sale, but they only fit a c-3 and not a c-4....shame, because they were on sale for $50 each.

Anyways...I love my KYB's

:w

FX3

I have a 92 with the FX3 suspeension. I want to change the shocks and do not feel the electronic shocks are worth 200 eack. Can I change the to a standard shock, or is the mounting unique in the ones I have?

Thanks
Ron
