I am considering changing to a 3.54 gear in my 93 Automatic in order to gain a little more low end accelaration.

I'm looking for a recommendation of a top quality shop in my area that I can trust to do the job right.

I live in the Tidewater area of VA. ( Hampton, Va. Beach, Newport News, Williamsburg, etc. ) ...does anyone have any suggestions regarding a good shop ?

Thanks.

Too Bad I'm not in your area... LoL.. finding a good shop can be a pain.. I just upgraded from the 2.59 gear set to a 3.07 that I got a nice deal on..

although it is a little over 2 hours North of you... Cooper Corvettes > http://www.coopercorvettes.com/ located right off I95 at exit 150 (head towards Quantico Marine Base, Make a Left on US RT1 and go 3 blocks North - Coopers is on the Right side)
Service manager Tom McGrath will take care of all your Corvette needs.
Keep it in mind as an option :)

Yes, they are experienced w/ gear changes.
Either the ring & pinion or the whole carrier they can do either.
Ask for Tom McGrath personally as he is the head fella there.
Funny thing - I came across Tom back in 1991, when my old roomate had his carrier swapped w/ a Dana 44.
Hope this helps:) -Chris

Ramrod,
I was thinking of doing the same thing on my 95. Does changing from the 2.59 to the 3.54 require a carrier change as well?

I don't live too far from Cooper's Corvette and have had work done there. They did a good job.
