I agree with the others, especially as this is your first car & your first Corvette. Fix what is broken first, then as you become more comfortable/experienced with working on your car, you can start making the car how you want it.

You can find a Chevy Service Manual here but its kind of pricey. You may be able to find these used.

If there is a car show in your area that includes a swap meet, it is a good place to pick up Chilton's, Hayes, or Chevy shop manuals & sometimes you can get the sellers in bidding wars.
