Absolutely awesome. I love black, this is the same year as mine, it is pretty well stock. Do you have run flat tires on yours?

The reason I am asking about the tires is that I am going to
the :CAC Cruise Fest this year at Bowling Green and a little leary not having a spare tire. Should I worry about this? Are you going to be able to make it this year?

Hey Vettepilot,

Must be nice to drive a Vette year round. Anyway you don't have run flat tires on your Z do you? Since I have the run flat would you be concerned about traveling without a spare tire which none of the C-5's have? Have you taken your's on any long trips? Does not having a spare bother you? I think the Z came with a small air compressor and/or sealer or somthing didn't they. I have also heard that the sealer would screw up the tire pressure sensors in the wheel too. What is your feelings on these things? By the way I am going to be spending the week-end in Indy visiting that friend of mine John there in Ozark son, he's there for the National League of Cities Conference, he is on the city council there in Ozark. I haven't seen him since he was 6 years old.

Take care and hope you can make it to the Cruise Fest this year.

Hey Bill,

The Z06 doesn't come with runflats, but does have the 12vdc air compressor and goop. The goop would clog the tire pressure sensors, that's why the Z06 didn't come with sensors.
So far I haven't had to use that kit. We traveled to Bowling green a couple of years ago with mine, and on those long trips we were pushing 34.5 MPG cruising at 75 MPH. Not bad for 405 HP.
I wouldn't worry about traveling long distances in your Vette, the runflats are quite dependable in terms of getting you home or to a place where they can be fixed. The GM specs for the Goodyear EMT are: they must be capable of being driven 50 miles at 55 MPH in a runflat state and still be repaired. They are capable of going 200 miles at 55 MPH in a runflat state but are not supposed to be repaired if driven over 50 miles in a runflat state. So you can see they are capable of getting you someplace for the night.
Not having a spare never bothered me at all. Even if I did have one, I probably wouldn't use it while traveling, it's much easier to call AAA especially if the car is loaded down for traveling. So far...knock on wood... I have never been stranded in any of my vehicles, we travel all over the U.S. during the late spring through the autumn.

Stan,
I've read the specs on the RFT, but not being use to it makes me kind of nervous I guess. My C-5 has the second set of tires and they are "Firestone Firehawk RFT" suppose to be equal or better than the original Goodyears, of course that depends on who you talk to. At any rate they are about the same 50 miles at 55mph. I talked to one guy who ran one flat for over 400 miles and then of course he bought a new tire. So Bowling Green bound in June for me :Steer , just have to get over not having a spare tire. I don't belong to AAA or anything, might be a good ideal to join before I leave, uh? What is the advantage of belonging to AAA, do they give you a service number to call or something if you have a problem or what? Are you going to make it down for the :CAC Cruise Fest this year?

Just talked to John and Betty Gilland there in Ozark, just got off the phone with them in fact. Like I told you earlier I am going to meet their son in Indpls. tomorrow evening for supper.

Well take care, hope to see you in BG this year.

:upthumbs Boy these are (2) choice looking Vettes to say the least. The black is my favorite, but the silver doesn't look too shabby either!!!! BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL WHEN IT'S CLEAN, but hard to keep it that way.

My black beauty has been put to bed for the winter, can't wait for SPRING!! Don't suppose your headed to the CAC Cruise Fest in BG this coming June are you, pretty far for you, I think you live in California; right?

Bill :w

:upthumbs Looks like a lot of work, are you going to have it done for
:CAC Cruise Fest 2005 in Bowling Green this year? Or is it done now? Not sure I would have the energy to restore one, of course I'm getting old.

CAC PIn for 2005 Cruise Fest

motorman_mp3,

Just looked at your pictures, looks like a lot of work; but seeing it all done will be worth it! I assume you are going to keep it black; right? :upthumbs Is it a manual trans. or auto?

Look forward to seeing you it Bowling Green in June. I tought when we get closer it would be a good ideal to exchange cell phone numbers; what do you think?

Bill :w

It will stay black, but in inside will not be the same. It is a auto trans. And the windows will be tinted.(some people don't like that idea)Send a email to motorman_mp3@yahoo.com for the cell number,Or nextel if you got one.(there is a under score between motorman and mp3

Bill,

If you're referring to my post thanks for the kind words.
There are certainly some beautiful vettes here!

This is a good thread.

I see that you have good taste in color choice too with a black coupe.
Black is tough to keep clean, but is beautful when completely detailed!

Sorry about that "winter" thing. We had "winter" last night with lows in the 60's and it may get into the 50' tonight.
It was beautiful today with temps in the low 70's. It's 78 right now and I just came home from driving my roadster with the top down.:D

Don't know if we'll make that BG thing.

Best regards,

Pedro

Cruise Fest 2005

Choice cars and I do love black but as you said it is impossible to keep clean, but when it is they are awesome!!!!! Understand not making it to :CAC BG quite a distance, but I am going to go this year I think, need to take a trip by myself this summer.

Take care,

Lift/Stacking Unit for garage. . . . .

I just love the lift for stacking two cars, :upthumbs how does this work/electric or ? Do you use it for stacking and working on them too? Also I noticed some ramps on the upper level and assume that is for driving the one on top off. If you don't mind me asking what does something like this cost and do you have any more information on this that you could send me. What does it take to install something like this and etc.

Thanks a lot,
Bill :w
