I have remote mirrors on my 80. (Did they all?)
The glass itself, not the entire housing, is starting to show signs of wear in the sense that it's got just a little play in it which causes the 'image' to constantly jiggle/rattle and blur. Is there something behind the mirror glass that can be tightend? I thought I'd ask and see what y'all say before I tear mine apart. It's not a major issue to me right now, but I thought I'd throw it out here and see what I can dredge up. T.I.A.

The glass is held to the power mirror motor with I believe 3 plastic pins. These pins just snap into the motor. One of your 3 pins could be broken. You can gently pry off the mirror but be careful the plastic can get brittle. These pins are replaceable.

It may also be the motor has come loose in the housing. You can check by power tilting the mirror all the way inwards, wiggle it and see if the motor in behind is moving. If the motor is moving you need to remove the entire mirror housing from the car. The bolt tightens from the bottom. To remove the entire mirror you need to take off the the door skin. Once you take it apart put some locktight on the bolt that holds the motor.

They aren't powered. They just use the tension wires (or whatever they are called) to adjust the mirror.

Same type of connection. Its either those 2 or 3 plastic pins or the piece they attach to. You need to remove the entire housing to get at the bolt on the bottom. check the pins first. If its not the pins tilt the mirror all the way in and see if the internals are loose.
