Some More Pictures of the Blonde

Here you go, some more pictures of our 95 LT-1. The kid in the pictures is our younger son dying to drive the car when he gets 18 and receives his driving license...

Selim, The team will be racing GP 2s in Istanbul on the 21st. of August. I do not think that I will be able to make the race. July and August are killer months for the rental track so I am usually stuck here.

Let me know if you want to come to the race I can probably get you into the pits for a tour during the practice and qualification sessions. Back in the good old days we took people out to the starting grid but racing is such big business now that we can’t even get our family past the grandstand on race day?

How are the Go-Kart tracks in Turkey?

Do you mean the Formula 1 race in Istanbul when you say GP 2??? What does GP 2 stand for???

I know Formula 1 will be in the new race track in Istanbul between 19 - 21 August 05. Any relation with GP 2???

Nice, Selim - looking good!

Bob

What do you mean by that???

Get rid of the stiff in the pictures and give us more blonde...Obviously the better half. ;)

JonM, if what you wanted to see is more of my Corvette, I have posted some more pictures of it a few lines above here in this thread.

It is a grand shame if you meant Bob's wife by the "blonde, the better half" :mad . We are here for Corvettes only. Family members, moms, sisters, daugther, kids, wifes, and others, shoud be kept out of discussions.

SPANISHVETTS, I would love to go to GP2 in Istanbul this summer. August maybe the right time for me to take a break from work and enjoy the F1. Which one is your team??? I visited the internet site you indicated in your post and GP2 seems like hot hot hot stuff... And by the way, can you please let us know your real name?

Cheers,

Selim

P.S. I was in Spain couple times in early 80's in the Basque country and Barcelona. Lovely places... San Sabastian and its surroundings were simply gorgeous... Never forget the smoked meat, paella, chese & red wine...

Sometimes this place is such a blast...
Must be a rare thing to see a vette cruising around Turkey, eh?
The garage reminds of some Carribean designs I've seen. Nice.

You are right, Corvettes are rare cars here. So are the Ferraris & Lamborghinis. Rest ( BMW, Mercedes, Porche) are plenty. Porche 4x4 are all over the place...

Carribean design garrage??? Never thought of that. We thought yellow color would make the house look cosy, like a farm house. Never had any intentions for it to have Carribean style. But hey, thanks for the compliments.

No probs. I was thinking with the tile and tropical colour it reminded me of some of the spots I've seen down there. Add a bottle of Tequila and some salsa tunes and hang in the garage. I do...

Ok, let’s clear up the name and nationality first. I am an American living in Spain. My parents saw fit to name me Igeaux. Pronounced I go. The Spanish can not wrap their lips around I go so thy call me the Spanish equivalent; Voy. The bank even issues credit cards to me in that name.

The Basque country is the most beautiful in Spain and the red wine from Rioja is really French…Long story do a Google search. You would be surprised at the short time the meat is cured, some of the best is ready in less than 2 months.

Now to the racing. The team is Racing-Engineering, it belongs to my friend. My position with the team is FOO. (Friend Of Owner) With F1 becoming the highest $ sport on earth the promoters were looking for a warm-up act that would feature the young drivers that were destine to become F1 pilots so they invented GP2. The sponsors jumped on board making it $$$ feasible and the rest is soon to be history.

If you can make it to the race PM me the week before the race and I will try to get you into the pits for the warm up and qualifications.

Beautiful car! I'm especially likin' the color!
Sure wish we didn't need front plates here! I was running the plug this summer and got tagged twice in two weeks! $85 a pop! so I have the front plate on now :( Nothing like having a nice flat reflective spot on the front of the car for reflecting radar huh?

Bob - Looks great, especially the color :D

The garage is for one car, unlike what you folks have in USA & Canada for a few cars... There are also storage cabinets inside for gardening tools, wood for the fire place a mini fridge for extra ice, etc. Therefore not much room is left for fun stuff. Hey I would love to have a 4 car garage with at least 2 sports cars, some music & booz inside. Would love to throw parties for friends and just have a good time.

Voy, :) :) :) (easy name to remember)

I was in Spain twice before. At the time (1980 - 82) we purchased a CNC lathe from a Spanish company called Danobat at some place in Basque country (ELGOIBAR may be?) close to Bilbao. We would fly into Bilbao and have a ride to this place. I went there first to evaluate the machines & company's propasal, and a year later for the comissioning of the machine. It was probably one of the very first CNC equipment imported into Turkey. I stayed at a seaside hotel (3 stars at the most) that had a wonderful beach and pine forest at the back. People, food, nature and everything else was simply perfect. Basque people are among the most friendly I have ever met. I still remember the word "khiyave" (something like that) meaning "key" for the hotel room...

I was also in San Sabastian for a few days and I was used to call the place "Mini-London by the Sea".

Cheers,

Selim

But I am having color calibation problems - she looks too orange - supposed to be Torch Red. Anyhow, I will figger that out and fix sometime.

In really bright sunlight, I've noticed my Torch Red looks orange in pictures and also to my eye.

My 94 is the same way and with the top down, the grey interior gives the paint a pink cast, or at least I think so, but in the sun, it defeinately has an orange look to it. Really wish it had black interior
