starts then dies

Well here I am, 5 months on. Changed the fuel filter, which looked pretty good. Then 3 weeks ago the pump. Thought I was getting the Airtex but, when I'd stripped off the retailers wrapping it's a Purolator ! I went for the one for a '93 (it was the same price, though 'not reccomended for an '88'). She's running better than at any time during the 12 years I've owned her ! Jesse was the first to be right on it, as it was the on/off symptoms that threw me. My thanks to all that offered sage advice to me. The replacing process was as easy as many said. I've subjected the old pump to 'laboratory type' testing, which involved submerging the strainer end in a basin of water and applying power, water, containing hundreds of small pieces of brittle strainer, emerged from the 'feeder end' but the flow could be stopped with very light pressure applied with the fore finger. I'm expecting details to be published in the next edition of 'The Lancet'........Roger...:happyanim:
