Steering Column Lock - Solution???

Thanks for sharing this, you rock!

First and foremost thanks for taking the time to share this video that Paul did, he :_rock Now secondly I do not in any way shape or form want to appear whinny or ungrateful because I hate this flaw in anyone's character in anyone and most of all myself!! But the audio is well for the most part not good enough for me to understand what Paul is saying, and I know he puts on really good seminars I have personal set in on a few of them over the years and he is BEST of the BEST in my humble opinion! Does anyone know of anything I may or may not be doing; can I clean this up any on my end?

Now there has been some new development, I have discovered low voltage from the batter which is a Delco and only two years old, bu after I charged the batter on high on my charger low and behold the steering column unlocked and has word as it is supposed to, I celebrated with an cold iced down COORS "Silver Bullet and it was so good, only one for now though! Waited a few minutes and took it out for a test flight and it worked flawlessly but I had removed the positive and negative cables from the battery and of course this erased the key fob and security system so looking into that today. Any suggestions ;shrugon programing the key fob, etc?

Thanks you people are the BEST of the BEST as well you all :_rock

Always good when the simple solutions work out!

As far as the key fobs go, you probably just have to re-synch them with the car; that's typical after loss of battery power. The procedure should be in your Owner's Manual, but the long and short of it is hold both the "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" buttons of the fob down simultaneously until the horn chirps (could take up to 10 seconds). That should re-synchronize the fob to the car.

It certainly is, very rarely do I end up on the side of simple, do love simple :dancenaughty

Keeping my fingers crossed. . . . . . . .

Still working as designed, low voltage must be the culprit, I did put a long full charge on the battery, only two years old but I am keeping an eye on it for sure ;shrug

Thinking out-loud what is the chance of the steering column locking up on the road, is the 2mph something that if you setting @ a stop light :nono it could lock up; again just thinking out-loud :confused

Frankly, I don't know the answer for certain; but I want to say that if the car passes the diagnostic check on start-up, you'd be fine until the next ignition sequence.

Without knowing exactly how this is all tied together that was my thought too, BUT, if for what ever reason you had to shut it off, fuel, grub, etc. locking up would suck out loud for sure but the ultimate scare the crap out of you would to be traveling interstate speed or better and the wheel lock up, surely this would not be the case but sure entered my dead air space or no fly zone to inquire if anyone knows for sure ;shrug would be the ultimate "O-Shit :CRASH I am read a lot of info on this subject, lot of different thoughts and etc. circulating out there, appears apparent to me the only real fix is to pull the wheel and remove the lock mechanism all together, is this over reacting :confused How about it c4 c5 specialist sure would value what you would do or not do, you da Man :thumb

Thanks, my is still working going to take a little trip in her today.
