I have a 1882 corvette that has been sitting in the driveway for 4 years,
Now I would like to drive it again.
What should I do before starting it?
When I put a new battery in it it started but would not continue to run.

Should I drain the Gas?
Should I put a new gas filter?

Help.

I moved your thread to the C3 forums. You should get better feedback here.

At the very least, I would change the gas & gas filter, as well as the oil & oil filter.

Good luck

As twiget mentioned, square away the fuel and fuel filter. Also, replace oil and oil filter. If you continue to experience problems just let us know. For peace of mind, I would also pay attention to the ignition system like plugs, plug wires.

Problems Still

Problems still--she wants to start!
change all filters, but fuel enjection with spray(starting Fluid)will start but not continue to run.

the fact that you can get it to start is a step in the right direction.

First, make sure you have clean fuel. Empty the tank and put in a few gallons of gas (87 octane is fine for 1982). You may have to replace the fuel filter again if you plugged it up when you were trying to start it.

Do you have fuel pressure?
Get a fuel gauge and see how many PSI you have.

Another tune up item I would suggest is new spark plugs, but i don't think that is your problem. If it starts with starting fluid, then you have spark. Another good Tune up idea would be a new distributor cap, rotor, and plug wires.
