Stupid Question?????

I changed the bulb (2157) on the rear tail light closest to the middle of the car and now it shows as the brake light when turned on but my foot is not on the brake????

:confused I changed the bulb (2157) on the rear tail light closest to the middle of the car and now it shows as the brake light when turned on but my foot is not on the brake????

Sounds like the bulb was installed 180 degrees out. There are two contacts on the pigtail socket. One for the large filament (brakes) and one for the small (taillights). When the socket gets warn, it is possible to install the bulb incorrectly.
