SuperNaturals, How can you ID an Engine?w/in>

shopview said:
Seems that all SNAT owners should get together <GROUP BUY> and request the plates to be made and sent for each engine. I would gladly pay for the plate just for the record keeping. My wallet and reciepts are pretty good documentation but it would be nice to have a signed plate like the first car had.

Can anyone make this happen?
Which plate are you referring to?? The dash plate or throttle body plate?

I did just get a run of SuperNatural 425 Plates for the throttle body made, as they were not previously offered at all :cool

Paperwork is key!!! Fortunately, mine has been featured in three Corvette Magazines including when it was constructed as a brand new car, drop shipped from a Chevy dealer to Old Lyme :cool

Let me know which plate, we'll see if we can draw interest :m

Sorry, should have been clear. Dash plate is the one. Joanne said they stopped making those a long time ago. That is the one I would like to see a run of.

My engine is the 450 Supernatural with the plate.

Finally the sun is out in Texas...I'll see if I can find those markings on the engine block this weekend.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark, Ted had made a run of the Throttle body plates for SNAT 425 owners once we had enough interest. I imagine these could be redone as the materials are similar - and providing the template is intact.

Chris any luck getting Callaway to make a plate for each supernatural at the owners expense? I now my 1994 was 001 in 2003 from the engine stampings but really would like to see plates available to owners with receipts...

Mark, the new SuperNatural plates recently released (for the C6 SNAT's) are a similar (if not the same) design as the one on my SNAT - I cannot see why they would not do this for a car in records :cool

I hope this helps :m

91callaway vbmenu_register("postmenu_527039", true);

Can you make this happen for us 1992-1996 SNAT owners who would like to buy the Supernatural Plate?

Hey I am in! I have the first SNAT 92 #001 and it has no dash plate. I have always had plate envy!
Please let me know if anyone has any luck getting one.
Thanks, Dave.

Anyone local who can make the request? I assume they would be $75 like the B2K dash plates on the online store?

Thanks

My cousin has a 93 ruby red 40th coupe that is a supernatural 435.
It has no Callaway badging anywhere on the car.
He thinks the car would be worth more if it looks completely stock.
Just the block stamping and double D exhaust tips for identification.
Big John.

Folks, after some discussion, this has a seriously good chance of happening :cool

While some of the fine points and details still need to be reviewed, Callaway Cars has begun utilizing similar ID Plates for the new C6 SuperNaturals and could work for this application as well.

Research on your individual car would need to be done in comparison with the build records therefore, final cost is T.B.D. and quite possibly based upon that.

This is great news for those looking for the badges - they are hand engraved, which is a bit more involved over the B2K stamped plates :cool

Shopview - Please be patient - Callaway Cars will work with us, the owners of the cars and in return, they will continute to be there for us iin the future :cool
This is quite possibly the most important thing for future offerings from the company :m

1992 was the first year for the SNATs. They are based on the LT1 and Lt5 engines.

Hi Chris,
My cousin bought the car new and he lives one mile west of me in Connecticut.

This is GREAT NEWS:_rock you're the man!!! They could always engrave the VIN to the plates before shipping to ensure they go on the correct cars and I think this will increase the value of Supernaturals and hopefully in turn increase Callaway sales to keep them growing and providing in win win situation for everyone!!!!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR PROACTIVE EFFORTS WITH THE TEAM AT OLD LYME - That's 3 big favors, I owe you :cool

They're there alright

The Supernat engines do have serial numbers restamped in them. My earliest SNat is a 94, and it has the model year of the engine, as well as the sequential build number of the engine, plus the last 5 or 6 digits matched to the VIN. My two 95's and 96 just have the year and numeric engine number from Callaway as it is seen on the dyno sheet. The block just under the left head in front has the number. Oddly enough, my 96 was built in late 95, and has the next numerical number as my late 95, so they may have been at Callaway at the same time. Unless noted, or requested, the SNats were NOT the same engine pulled from the car.

Hope this helps
Anthony

Anthony, Good stuff! :upthumbs

However, our SNAT does not have external #'s but is marked elsewhere to match records...

It takes a great deal, but is worthwhile if the numbers are not as you described!

thanks again! :m

Anthony, You've got it right... I specifically had my engine built in 2003 and it was stamped 001 :D for the first one built in 2003 plus of course the 5 VIN numbers.
